Charlie was not happy. He had been told coming here was the best place to meet people. He had not particularly wanted to do so, well okay making friends would be nice, but it was more curiosity as to why such a place would be anything special. However a few seconds of sitting in the middle of the garden on a bench - doing some work so he would not be wasting valuable time - he was wishing he had not come. However he found it almost impossible to move from the bench he was seated on because everywhere he looked was dirty. Just so much dirt in one place was too much for him to cope with.

Katharina walked into the greenhouse noticing that there were some new plants, taking her camera she took some photos. Wanting to get a more wider picture of the lilacs, backing up Katharina took one picture of them before she triped over a bag of dirt, she held her camera to her as she blinked a few times trying to catch her breath.

Charlie made to move forward to see if she was hurt but then changed his mind and kept to his bench. If he was to get dirt on himself then he would need to have a long shower to become suitably clean again and he did not have time for that. So he simply called out, in even words as usual, "are you alright, miss?" Swaying slightly as he watched the dirt rise up in a small cloud and itched to move away from it.

Kat sat up making sure her camera was alright, she then lightly shook her head to herself and stood up dusting herself off. "Ez inen.....er yeah." She said as she walked to see who was talking to her, she saw a guy sitting on a bench, Kat raised an eyebor in question. "Thank you for asking. I am Katharina Sten." She said as she stuck her hand out for him to shake. Keeping her camera in the other hand, the last thing she wanted to do is get it dirty with any dust and what not.

Charles surveyed her hand for a moment before shaking his head "I can't ... but it is nice to meet you" he replied as though that explained everything. Then half-smiling he nodded and added "I Charles ... Drew ..."

Kat looked at her hand then srughed. "It's nice to meet you Charles....if you do not mind me asking.....do you have a....how you say, a fear of germs?" She asked thinking about how to put her words. Speaking in english was very hard for her, but she tried. Kat put her camera strap around her neck and lightly tilted her head to the side and shifted her weight. "Charles? May I ask, if you do have a...fear of germs, why are you here?" Not like she cared, she just didn't really understand Americans.

"I think that aversion is a better word than fear, and in all honesty I have no idea" Charles replied glancing around before looking back at him with a smile "it just seems this is where I ended up. I do believe that I planned to meet people and this was the place that was recommended to me. See?" He then proceeded to show her his time table and the square which had the word 'meet people' written on it.

Kat tried to hid a laugh but failed, she shook her head to herself. "Sorry for laughing. It is just that you Americans are so funny. Uhh, I think the best place to.....meet new people would be in the cafeteria." Kat had never meet and Americans like Charles.

"But the cafeteria is for eating. I could not possible go in there in my 'meet people' slot. The cafeteria is for the 'eat' slot which is here, and here, and here" Charles immediately corrected as he pointed out the right slots on the carefully done timetable. "What is so funny?" Charles asked confused, not seeing anything strange or amusing about his structure and order "on seconds thoughts never mind."

Kat gave a confused look at Charles, she did not understand him or what he was going on about with the slots. Shaking her head she said to him, "if you really to make friends, you will have to try different spots. It's like a....flower." She said trying to think of a object she could pick. "They do not care where they are planted or grow, so long as there is light to help them grow more. This is just like people...no? Where ever the....bigger attraction is, the more people will be there..and thus the more people you can talk to..." She hoped she did that right, explaing things that come as second nature to her was hard, but understanding Americans seemed to be more difficult then she thought it would be.

Kat reofferend her hand again, after taking out her clean rag for her camera and cleaning her hand off. "Charles..from now on I shall be your friend....that is if you are okay with it." Kat annouced a bit timid in the end. She had every human emotion, and that inclued the fear of rejection.

Charles took a bottle of anti-bacteria from his bag, he sprayed her hand from a distance and then his own. Then with a smile willingly shook her hand and replied "alright, then I shall put you on my list!" He then took out a small list labelled 'friends' and neatly wrote her name below the other name on there "Barnaby." Nodding with satisfaction "and as I have met the classification meet people, and also had the bonus of acquiring a friend, there is no need to ruin my time table by going somewhere in the wrong slot!"

Kat lightly nodded but she was happy to have another to call friend, she lightly tilted her head to the side. "May I ask a question, why is it that you are here....at the academy I mean?"

"I am a gymnast, and I want to be one of the best in the world" Charles replied simply as he glanced down at himself and then back up at her. He paused for a moment before continuing "and you are an artist ... yes?"

Kat smiled, "a gymnast, would you mind if I took some photos of you while you.....practiced?" She asked, Kat had never met a gymnast before and this would be her first time taking photos of one. After being brought back down to earth from her daydreaming with his question. "Ah igen...er yes. Sorry, I am a photographer..the only one in my family." Kat told him proudly with a huge smile, it was something she should be pround of after all she's in this academy to show for it.

Charles actually very faintly blushed "well I have never let anyone see me practise except the coach before, ever, but as you are my friend ... then yes I believe that would be okay. I have my next practise session ..." Charles glanced down at his time table "in about five mins in my next slot actually." He nodded satisfied with how this had worked out and then looked back up at her "I am sure you are marvellous. Well actually that is a lie because I cannot be sure at all until I have seen your work."

"Really, oh thank you so very much Charles. I promise it will be like I am not even there." Kat told him, holding back the urge to hug him seeing as how he had spryed her hand with disinfectant. So she just smiled, and told the truth, most people never even remember she's there taking their photo. Then he went to say what he said, causing Kat to have to bite her tounge. The one thing she couldn't stand was bashing of her work, even if he hadn't seen it yet, you never tell an artist their work may not be marvellous even if you haven't seen it yet. Kat took a deep calming breath and slowly let it out being on the brink of yelling at Charles in her native tounge was really something she had to work on..well yelling at anyone who would say what he did.

"Oh in five mintues. Well then, I guess I should get my work here done. If you do not mind my being a little late to your practice. I had promised my mama that I would send her pictures of the flowers from around the school." She informed him as she lightly smiled.

Charles nodded. He knew his comment might not have been well received. But he never lied, not even for the sake of social acceptance. He then rose from his seat and grabbing his bag turned and smartly headed off towards the training room, and where he practised his gymnastics.
