If Barnaby ever had a bad day, and he had quite a lot of them, at least he could feel secure in a place like this. For all the other reasons he was teased a place like this rarely provided people who would care. Taking a calming breath he looked around the studio happily. His CD in hand as he planned to practise and ease his mind about being away from home. Walking over to the player in the corner he loaded his CD and pressing play allowed the music to wash over him. Before calmly beginning to dance.

Oh how he loved dance ...

Christa stood at the door of the Dance Studio, hoping it wasn't being used because she needed to practice dancing to a song, that she composed herself, before the annual family reunion happened. The reunion was basically a time for the family to have their children show their musical talents and Christa was determined to be amazing, as usual. She opened the door, a bag slung over her shoulder, as she walked in. She saw a guy dancing but decided against leaving and took a seat on a chair, watching him.

Mid-spin during the middle of his performance Barnaby noticed that he was being watched. He just continued dancing because that was what his dance teacher always yelled at him, never stop, but he did feel a slight blush light his cheeks. Completing the routine he came to a finish and bowing then addressed the new girl "sorry, did you need to use the studio?"

Christa smiled at him. "I can always use it once you're done." she said. "You're a really good dancer." she replied, smiling at him.

"Well I am sure there is room for both of us, specially is one of us is as sweet as you, why don't you show me your dance and I will see if I can pick it up?" Barnaby suggested with a warm smile, which brightened further still at the compliment. He rarely got them so it was a thrill to hear.

Christa blushed. "Are you sure? My dance isn't something guys want to dance. With the sashaying of my hips." she said, moving her hips. "But you could be my dance partner." she smiled. "Could you close your eyes so I could change really fast?" she asked.

"Ah but I am sure I could still do - don't you know I am master of the hip sashay" Barnaby teasingly replied, copying her acting with a grin and a wink. He raised one eyebrow at her request and replied "well if you really feel that you cannot traverse the incredible distance to the changing rooms ..." with light teasing and almost sarcasm lacing his tone. But he did obligingly turn his back on her and place one hand over his eyes.

Christa laughed and pulled on her dance clothes, a white tank top that hugged her curves and a pair of jean short-shorts. "Much better." she mumbled, tapping his shoulder. "You can look now."

"Alright mon amie, let us begin. Where do you want me?" Barnaby asked turning around and cheerfully addressing her. He glanced her over and had to admit she looked cute all ready to dance. He however ignored that thought and focussed on the dancing "why don't you give me a preview?"

Christa pointed to her side. "You'll be like my dance partner or something." she said, walking over to the stereo and putting in a CD labeled 'Come Back to Me.' "Okay, you want a preview?" She asked, walking over to the mirror, her back turned to him as she closed her eyes, waiting for the first sound of the music. The song started playing and she let the music overcome her and just take control, as she danced along to the song and her lips also moving with the music.

She started singing the chorus, "Baby, come back to me. In my heart I still believe, we were meant to be. Together so whatever it takes. Baby, come back to me. I should have never set you free, we were meant to be. My baby, come back." she finished, ending with one arm up in the sky and the other on her hip. Her breathing was heavy but she smiled at him. "That good enough?" she asked, turning the stereo off.

"Well its no me, but girlfriend you have style!" Barnaby replied with a wave of one hand to emphasise his point, having given her a round of applause "so should I just do as you do or what?"

Christa blushed but laughed. "Really? I was that good?" she said, rolling her eyes. "Why don't you just trust your instincts and just dance along with me." she said.

"Well then sugar, lets dance it up" Barnaby replied with a wink before moving across to turn the music back on.

Christa laughed. "Let's do it!" she said, taking her position waiting for the music to start.

The music began to flow through the room and Barnaby took up his position near to Christa. He was a natural at dance and so he took to the new music like he did to every other music, as though he had been dancing to it his entire life. He forgot everyone that had ever made a mean comment about him, he forgot his parents, and just emerged himself in the music and in the dance.

Christa started dancing and she could feel herself drift away from reality and into the music, feeling every beat. Her hips swished at all the right moments and she was breathless as the music ended. His arms were around her, as one leg was up and the other was on the floor, her back arched back, and her head tilted all the way back.

Barnaby had ended in the split was the flopped back to get his breath back. So he was now lying still in the splits but with his back against his stretched out back leg. "Well sugar, that sure was fun!" he declared without moving, happy enough.

Christa giggled and smiled at him. "Was it? You do know that you're still in the splits, which must be very painful." she said, grabbing a bottle of water taking a sip from it. Her tank top rode up a bit, showing her belly button as she walked towards him. "So, what'd you think of the dance?" she asked.

"I was aware - I also think I might have noticed if it was painful" Barnaby replied with a chuckle as he bought the top of his body up and putting his hands palm down took the full weight of himself on his arms as he lifted and swung his leg around. So he was now sitting leaning on his hands looking up at her "it was fun mon cheri, very fun!"

Christa smiled at him. "It was." she said, biting her lip.

"So mon cheri, what happens now?" Barnaby replied.

Christa shrugged and took a seat next to him. "What do you want to do?" she asked.

"Do you feel you could attempt my dance?" Barnaby suggested with amusement.

"I'm not a Martinez for nothing." she winked, laughing. "I probably could."

"Go on then sugar, amaze me" Barnaby replied giving her an expectant and amused look.
