"It is time the pretty girls got there say, how come things never go our way? We work hard and we do what it takes, and yet somehow we always do get blamed! You hate the home coming queen, yet you judge her for hating you! You blame us for telling you the truth, and the fact our boyfriends don't wanna date you! How can it be fair, that you say you don't care, yet you throw a fit when we don't either. The girls next door get all the credit, you ruin our lives and leave us to survive, I really don't get it. How are you not classed as a bitch too, just because your not size two, with high heels and a princess do ..."

Rosalie was singing softly too herself a song she was making up as she went along as her hands danced along the keys of the piano in front of her playing a tune she had written herself. It was not her best song, she had written a lot better, but it was one that made her smile. She had written it after doing a movie marathon with Aaron and forming a view on how the 'pretty girls' were always treated by the 'anti-social girls' in the teenage high school flicks.

She was happy enough she had the music room too herself for once. It was nice to be alone with just her and her music. Though she had the feeling it would not last long. She also was aware she would not exactly be classed as your typical pretty girl - a biker with a lip piercing, three earnings and belly button ring, not to mention her tattoo and her anti-social behaviour. But that did not mean she automatically hated other people. She just liked her own company. Well okay she avoided other people like the plague, but somehow she still had friends, so it clearly worked.

(Sorry that took me so long to reply Dx)

August waltzed into the music room, looking to get some practice on the piano before class. Her eyebrows furrowed and her gloss-covered lips sunk into a little frown when she saw that there was already somebody playing the piano. Smoothing back some of her dark curls she flounced over to the piano where the girl was playing, smirking when she realized that this girl was obviously an outcast, so she should move when August asked her to.

"Excuse me, I need to practice," August said in her sweetest pretty-girl voice, planting a hand on her hip, her other hand holding her Prada bag full of sheet music that she'd written. She tapped her this-season Jimmy Choo pump impatiently as she waited for the girl to respond to her.

"Really? From what I hear your pretty damn perfect" Rosalie simply replied her fingers never leaving the keys of the piano. Rosalie could tell when she was being judged - she was perceptive, and this girl was clearly giving of the superior vibe. She had every right to the piano, and she was not giving it up plus Rosalie had her own expensive heels and equipment. She was still the musical protégée of a step-father who wanted to buy her affection, therefore this girl had nothing Rosalie could not have if she wanted it. But she was not going to be rude about it - not yet anyway "so why practise?"

She shot the girl a winning smile and flipping her long hair over one shoulder with one hand she returned to playing her music. She kicked her own bag under the shoulder, customising prada was probably the kind of thing that was seen as a crime to a girl like this. Not that she was judging ... nope ... no judgement here. They were both after all far too close - far too similar - for her to judge. This girl was high maintenance barbie and she was motorbike barbie - same company but different accessories. She came with high heels and a attitude and Rosalie came with a manicure and a motorbike. Her perfectly manicured nails moved across the keys in a new pattern, as she changed her song. She was now playing the original 'I hate the homecoming queen' with amusement. But kept her glossy mouth shut - maybe she would not sing this one.

August raised an eyebrow at the girl's first comment. Of course I'm perfect, she thought to herself with a little smug smirk. "Well I have a show to play soon and I want to make sure I'm still as perfect as I always was," she replied, flicking some of her dark hair over her shoulder. Of course, her eyes drifted to the girl's hands which danced across the piano keys and she noticed the perfect manicure the girl was sporting. That's weird, she thought. I thought she was an outcast.

She had to hold back the urge to cringe as the girl kicked her bag under the piano- even if it was probably a cheap knockoff- designer is designer and shouldn't be treated with such disrespect. August planted one of her hands on her hip, being careful not to crunch her vintage Ralph Lauren, and tapped her foot harder, not prepared to give up until she could sit down and play the piano. It wasn't even about the piano anymore. She had a higher social status than this girl and she knew it and losing to her would be social suicide.

Rosalie rolled her eyes without looking back at the other girl "you need to get over this whole your better than me thing you have got going. Were one and the same you and I. I am motorbike barbie - I come with a leather jacket, a manicure, high heels and a vesper. Your high maintenance barbie - you come with high heels, lip gloss, a prada bag and an attitude! Same company, different accessories. So you can either sit your pretty little self down and duet with me and tell me where you got those gorgeous shoes ... or you can scoot and find somewhere else to feel better than people. Might I suggest goodwill? I just know you will find a ton of people to be better than in there!"

Once she was done she settled herself down on the bench that much more securely and continued to play. Though with one hand she hoisted her bag over to herself and balanced it on her lap. It did not deserve her displeasure, when it was such a beauty. This done she moved that hand back to the piano to join the other. This girl was just plain funny. Rosalie was not a social outcast, she chose to spend her musical time in solitude. There was a big difference. She would not be pushed around either. She did not care if the girl sat down or not. But it might nice to have someone else to hang around with that cared about how they looked, other than Jake and Aaron.

August raised her eyebrows. "One and the same?" She said, like the girl had just told her that rabbits and soy beans were the same thing. "Whatever," she said, waving it off. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, she thought to herself, although she was looking around a little bit to make sure that nobody decided to walk in and see them getting along. She sat down beside the girl on the piano bench and carefully put her bag down on the floor beside the bench, making sure it wouldn't get crinkled or dirty.

"What kind of duet do you want to do?" She said, putting her hands on the keyboard a couple octaves lower than the other girl and looking at her. At least she cared about the way she looked. Maybe being friends with this girl wouldn't be as socially degrading as she thought it would be. At least she wasn't wearing black lipstick or something awful like that. August couldn't help but snicker a little at the thought of wearing black lipstick.

"You would probably like the new song I am writing actually - it is all about girls like you ..." Rosalie trailed off when her blackberry began to beep from inside her bag. She ignored it and made to speak again but it would not stop beeping. Rolling her eyes she added "sorry about this ... give me a moment ..." she fished the phone out and opening it checked why it was beeping. Sighing she kept one hand on the keyboard and with the other hand she replied to the text before dropping it back in her bag. Then turning her attention back to the girl beside her finished "sorry about that - but I had it on alarm. There was this advert on the TV last night for these shoes I just had to have ... but they did not become available until .. well now!"

With that she then turned back to the piano "so what were we saying? Ah yes duet ..."

When the girl looked up from her Blackberry August was on her iPhone, she'd gotten the exact same alert and was buying the same pair of shoes. "Were they the new Louboutins? They're so exclusive," August said, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She turned to face the keyboard and looked at the other girl, her sudden burst of excitement fading.

"Girls like me? What is that supposed to mean?" August said, narrowing her eyes a little bit, thinking that it was a bad thing.

"New Louboutins? But of course! They were just too pretty to pass!" Rosalie replied with a shrug and a nod. She did not care that the shoes would be hard to get, or whether or not other people would have them, she just cared that they were gorgeous and she wanted them. She had been entirely pre-occupied last night in just how much she wanted them. But now she had to do piano time. She could not get distracted. It did seem however she had found a way to make this little duet bearable, they had more in common than either girl had first thought, whatever Rosalie had said and this girl had thought.

"I meant it as a good thing. I was watching a chick flick marathon last night - though if you tell anyone that then I will deny it - and it occurred too me how unfair it was on the pretty rich girls. I mean the 'girls next door' are bitches but they are not called as such because they are not a tiny size and decked out in amazing high heels and sparkly lip gloss. I just think it is time the pretty girls got a chance to give there point of view - instead of the film always ending with the pretty girl having lost everything and the 'girl next door' having stolen it all, and yet getting away with it because everythinks they are soo nice!"

Rosalie finished her little rant and letting out a breath returned to playing the tune for the song she had been singing when the other girl entered.

August listened to the girl rant with her eyebrows raised but had to agree with her. All the chick flicks she'd ever watched (which were her favorite movies, admittedly) ended up the same way- the pretty popular girl losing everything and everyone loving the "girl-next-door."

August started to play some chords that went along with the song that the girl was playing, being careful to listen to the key as well as the chord progression of the song so the duet sounded good.

"Tell me if you think I am completely wrong, I mean I wont care, but as this is a duet you might as well have an opinion" Rosalie simply replied as silently admitted that the other girl was not un-talented.

"Well then we need some new lyrics - feel free to jump if you think of something" Rosalie replied shooting a rare genuine smile back at the girl beside her before looking at the piano.

August bit her lip. "Lyrics really aren't my thing," she said sheepishly. "I like writing the music but I get someone else to do the lyrics for me usually." She said before looking back at the keyboard.

"We have so much money for our age, and our parents are to blame! We are rich and beautiful so it must be true - because of this we are better than you! MTV thought it might be cool, to show the world, that life is awesome when you have a pooool!" Rosalie sang with an innocent smile as the tune sounded just unique enough to be original but vaguely like something she had heard before.

August nodded with a small smile as she kept playing, adding more on to the tune and straying away from the pattern just enough that it still sounded good with the rest of the song but it was her own.

Rosalie hummed along with the tunes they were playing for a bit, adding her own bits to the tune to match the other girls when she suddenly asked "would it be too socially risky to share your name?" it was almost sarcastic in tone.
